Concerts I've Been To...

The Osmond Brothers - Madison Square Garden, NY 1971 You never forget your first concert. I was 14 and so in love with Donny, I even painted my room purple (his favorite color). My Mom took me on the train into Manhattan to take me to see him in concert.  It was so loud from all the girls screaming, I didn't hear a thing. My Mom was a real trooper and let me stand on the chair so I could see. She even bought me a poster. She is the best.

Englebert Humperdink – Westbury Music Fair, NY ,1972 I went with my Mom to see him with her this time as a payback for the above.

Alice Cooper – Madison Square Garden, NY 1973 Shot my first six pack of beer.

Edgar Winter - Madison Square Garden, NY 1973 I went to this concert with my friend Bucky. I sat up on his shoulders the entire time. He's since passed away. RIP my friend.

Led Zeppelin - Madison Square Garden, NY 1973 Don't remember much about this one. :)

Rolling Stones Madison Square Garden, NY 1975 I graduated from High School in the morning. Went to see the Stones that night. Happy Graduation to me.

Led Zeppelin - Nassau Coliseum, NY 1975 What to do when you  really have to pee, girls bathroom is full. Jimmy Page is so the cutest.  Really? You want us to wait in line for the woman's bathroom when the men's room is empty? We're not going in the stalls....couldn't pee in the urinals. Gross.  Yes, you guessed it. The Schaefer Girls wizzed in the sink. Sorry guys, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do... we're missing Robert Plant in tights.

Jethro Tull – Shea Stadium, NY July1976 I regretfully have to admit I dated a guy I worked with in Manhattan  (His name was Ciro I think) that I really didn't like all that much, just so I could see Tull in concert. First, let me say, Shea is great to see the Mets play baseball. Been there many times. It is no place to see a concert. It is way too big. Second, it is outside. Third, it is under the direct path of the planes landing at LaGuardia Airport that I don't even think Ian Andersen could hear himself. And this July night, it decided to rain and rain. Yes, Ian was under two large umbrellas being held up by two cranes. I, on the other hand, got what I deserved. I got soaking wet, didn't hear a thing and had a miserable night. Ciro and I never dated again.

Janis Ian - Lincoln Center, NY 1979 My country boy husband who I was dating at the time was so gracious to come from Connecticut to take me to see Janis. She is and always will be a favorite of mine. He, had never heard of her.

Rod Stewart -Hartford Civic Center, CT 1981 His pants were so tight he split them in the behind and and had to wrap a shirt around his waist for the rest of the concert.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band -Giants Stadium, NJ 1986 I paid alot of money for these tickets. John had a broken foot and was on crutches. I told him we were going if I had to carry him there. He actually drove all the way from Connecticut to New Jersey with a broken foot. Gotta love him. This concert was almost 4 hours long. John was ready to leave at 3-1/2" before one more person stepped on his foot. We actually could hear the end of the concert from the parking lot. The Boss rocks.

Sara McLaughlin -Lilith Fair,The Meadows, Ct 1999
Sheryl Crow -Lilith Fair,The Meadows, Ct 1999
Chrissy Hines -Lilith Fair,The Meadows, Ct 1999 Chrissy sang my favorite"I'll Stand By You" as my daughter, Marisa and I hugged and swayed to "our song".  One of my fondest memories.

Joan Baez -Warner Theater, CT 2000 I judge a concert on whether or not the artist plays my favorite song. I went to see Joan just to hear "Diamonds and Rust". Did she play it? No. Terrible concert.

The Monkees -Mohegan Sun Arena 2001 I love The Monkees. Mickey was always my favorite. I sat next to a young teenage couple at the concert who weren't even born during the Monkees heyday and did not look like they were enjoying themselves at all. The girl kept giving me dirty looks as I sang every song and danced in the aisle. Too bad.

Fleetwood Mac -The Meadows, Ct 2001 Stevie was wonderful and Lindsey Buckingham is one of the best guitar players I've ever heard.

Janis Ian -Thomaston Opera House, CT 2003 2nd time around. Love you Janis.

Pat Benatar -Warner Theatre, CT 2004 John and I went to this concert on our 25th wedding anniversary.
Jewel-Warner Theatre, CT 2004 Not very memorable. She was full of herself.

Paul McCartney-Hartford Civic Center, CT 2004 What can I possibly say about this experience? I paid $450 for my 9th row center seat. I would have paid more. I rate this evening right up there with my wedding day, and my children's births. The feeling I had when he first walked out on stage is one of a 7 year old screaming at the TV the first time she watched him on Ed Sullivan. I was so out of body, I was still standing blowing him kisses yelling "Paul I love you!" and never realized everyone around me had quieted and were sitting down. Needless to say, my life is now complete. Paul McCartney knows I'm alive as he looked right at me and smiled. And he played my favorite song, "Maybe I'm Amazed".

Billy Joel-Hartford Civic Center, CT 2005 No one plays like the piano man.

Tom Jones-Warner Theatre, CT 2006 No one would go to see Tom with me. Did that stop me? No. I went by myself and had a great time. I kept my bra and undies to myself however.

James Taylor-Tanglewood, MA 2007  Did he play my favorite song, "Fire and Rain"? No. James Taylor concert and he doesn't sing Fire and Rain. Go figure. And I sat out in the rain for this.

Phoebe Snow-Infinity Hall, CT 2009 John was always a big Phoebe fan so I went with him to see her. So glad I did. She was blessed with tremendous talent and a beautiful voice. Rest in peace, Phoebe.

The Moody Blues-Mohegan Sun Arena, CT 2009 Phenomenal musicians and yes, I cried during "Nights In White Satin". That one was for you Mike C.

Janis Ian – Infinity Hall – CT 2011 Janis usually has a meet and greet after most of her concerts. Third time seeing her in concert was a charm for me as I finally got a chance to meet her and say "Thanks for singing everything I was feeling. You got me through alot of crummy days." She said, "You're welcome", and gave me a big hug. She then took off the beaded bracelet she was wearing  and gave it to me! She also gave me a guitar pick. Thank you Janis. You are the best.

Marshal Tucker Band- Infinity Hall –CT 2012

Pink Floyd Experience- Palace Theater- Waterbury, CT 2013 I do believe Floyd is some on the most beautiful music ever written.

Barry Manilow- Mohegan Sun Arena, CT 2013 Another concert I went to with my mother. We've come full circle. We both love Barry.

Eric Church- Mohegan Sun Arena, CT 2014

Eric Church - Mohegan Sun Arena, CT 2017

Luke Bryan - Xfinity Center, Hartford, CT 2017
