About This Blog

Funny how a melody sounds like a memory, like a soundtrack to a July Saturday night."                                                                                                 "Springsteen"- Eric Church

Welcome to Bubala's View, a blog of song lyrics that tell a story. My story. The story of my childhood; what it was like growing up in New York City in the 60's and 70's, of old childhood friends, and of my wonderful family. There's  lyrics about love, those I've loved and loved me in return, and those who taught me hard lessons about love's honestly and trust. They are all part of the glorious emotional rainbow of colors from my treasured past; cherished times gone by.

Some are happy and joyous, others tell of sadness, pain, betrayal and self doubt.  But that is perhaps what intrigues me about song lyrics, they keep memories alive. I don't know if it is the emotions that come through in the song itself or maybe it is the memories of my life that play in my mind like an old movie when I listen to them. They teach, they heal, they make you cry as if the memory was yesterday. They follow you  through life like they were meant to take the journey with you. Yes, some haunt me when I hear them as they follow me,but at the end of my song, my life's song, I'll know they were mostly a friend, who taught me and inspired me, comforted me and brought me a peace only music can bring.

There are lyrics about my partner in love and life, my husband John. Our meeting, our marriage, and the most precious lyrics of my life, my daughter, and my son. My blog would not be complete without inspirational songs that give testimony to my Christian faith. Some have been with me since childhood, and others are new songs  that renew in me my confidence in God's assurance and His awesome grace.

Also included are poems, prayers, quotes, favorite biblical scripture verses, my cultural opinions, recipes and some of my own personal articles I've written through the years that through the gift of  God's grace  gave me the ability to make sure they made their way onto paper.

If not so noted or tagged as to who or what inspired a post, and you think your life has crossed mine in such a positive or negative way (or both) as to warrant a lyrical post about you, then yes, you're right, the post is about you.

The soundtrack of my life. Some words are mine. Others were written for me.  One way or another these words have touched my heart, my life and inspired my soul. This is my story. This is my song.  Here on my blog, I've gathered them all for you.

With love and blessings,

Joanne
